Nordenia Intl. installs AVT inspection at four plants

-- Converting Magazine, 5/5/2008

Flex-pack maker Nordenia International AG (www.nordenia.com) of Greven, Germany, installs more than US$1 million of AVT PrintVision/Argus process-control and QA systems (www.avt-inc.com) at its facilities in Germany, Poland and Spain.

Nordenia has adopted the PrintVision/Argus inspection solution at Nordenia Polska Poznan in Poland, Nordenia Deutschland Halle and Nordenia Deutschland Gronau in Germany, and at its Nordenia Iberica site in Barcelona, Spain. An additional PrintVision/Argus system will soon be installed at Nordenia Slavnika near Moscow, Russia.

The PrintVision/Argus combines an area scanning camera for process-fault detection with an LCCD camera for quality assurance. The LCCD camera inspects 100% of the web 100% of the time. When faults are detected, the scanning camera moves to the location of the fault to facilitate identification and remedial action.

Nordenia Intl. produces a range of films for food, beverage, hygiene, pet supplies, garden products, and other flexible packaging applications. Nordenia ordered its first AVT system in 2007 and has added multiple systems to its international production facilities since then. The group has 17 subsidiary production sites worldwide and employs more than 3,000 people.
